Sarah Kirwin
DIRECTOR, "CONFIDENCE IS COOL" CHILDREN'S
CAMP
Sarah Kirwin is a life-long Newporter, who received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 and anticipates returning to graduate school to gain a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology. Sarah has been involved in SAIL TO PREVAIL’s "Confidence is Cool" Summer Camp since its start in 1997. She began as a volunteer, later becoming a counselor, and ultimately acquiring the position of Director in 2006.
As the Director of the “Confidence is Cool” Summer Camp, Sarah has doubled the number of participants that attend these camps, as well as the number of sessions that are offered.
Sarah is a cornerstone of these camps. Her experience, ability to make sound judgments concerning children with a multitude of disabilities, and the relationships she has developed with other long time Newport non-profit institutions has been instrumental in the success of these programs.
